This is a 1950s German-made distinctive insignia for the United States Army 83rd Reconnaissance Battalion by Assman. The DI shows a beautifully enameled red and blue bird perched on a hand with a pointing forefinger and reads ADVANCE.
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/16" in height 15/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts.
MARKINGS:A (Assman).
