This is a sterling silver presentation medal from United Air Lines for Victory over Japan Day, September 2, 1945 (the actual date for the finalization of the surrender document). The front of the medal shows an airplane and the United logo wing in relief, and the back reads TOKEN PRESENTED TO THOSE IN FLIGHT WITH UNITED AIR LINES SEPTEMBER 2, 1945.
VINTAGE:Circa 1945.
SIZE:Approximately 1" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:Hole at top.
MARKINGS:SEPTEMBER 2, 1945 WHITEHEAD-HOAG STERLING.
