Description
This is a circa 1943 box carved in North Africa by a soldier in the United States Army 112th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion for his sweetheart. The box has a deeply carved 112th insignia and message to the sweetheart on the removable cover and a lovely geometric motif along the sides. The box comes with two period matchbooks.
VINTAGE:Circa 1943.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/4" in height and 4-5/16" in width and 7-1/16" in length.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Carved wood.
ATTACHMENT:Removable lid.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The box shows only some light wear and one small corner of the lid has broken off.
