Description
This is a circa 1940s special police badge from the City of University Heights, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. In fact, the badge is very similar in style to one made for the Cleveland Police Department. This badge is in brass with a heavy silver plate and has a maker mark on reverse. It is numbered 24.
VINTAGE:Circa 1940s.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/4" in height and 2-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Brass with a heavy silver plate.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin on bar with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:A. KEMPF (KEMPE?) mark on lower banner (reverse of badge); PAT. number on bar.
