ARTIFACT:

This is a beautiful circa early 1890s Newburyport, Massachusetts Police radiator badge. It is in silver-plated nickel and is numbered 1The badge has a Mitchell Boston maker mark on reverse. A classic port village in Essex County in northern Massachusetts, Newburyport is one of the oldest settlements in the Commonwealth, established in 1635.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 1890s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-11/16" in height and 2-3/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Silver-plated nickel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical safety-style pin, rectangular saddle.

MARKINGS:

Mitchell Boston maker mark.
