This is a 1930s distinctive insignia for the United States 172nd Field Artillery Regiment by Robbins. The DI shows a saltier (diagonal cross) in its upper left-hand corner, and it separates a cactus and a fleur-de-lis. The DI reads LOAD WITH CANISTER.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/16" in height 15/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:ROBBINS CO. ATTLEBORO and handwriting in marker on reverse.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The DI has some light abrasions and tarnish and writing on reverse.
