Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a 1930s celluloid pilot badge for Rhode Island State Airport. Built in 1931 in Warwick, the airport was the first in the nations to be first state-owned and operated. The badge shows an operating number of 6.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-3/16" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Celluloid-wrapped tin with brass pin.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal safety-style pin.

7+ (Very Fine+): Badge shows some light abrasions and moderate wear on reverse.
