Description
Beautiful 1930's Newport County, Rhode Island Deputy Sheriff badge in gilt and enameled sterling silver. The badge shows a blue enameled shield with a gilt anchor in the center, a banner above reads: "RHODE STATE OF ISLAND" and one below: "HOPE". The badge features a spread-winged eagle with a bowed head perched at the top and the outer edge of the badge reads: "DEPUTY SHERIFF NEWPORT COUNTY" in blue enamel detail.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930's.
SIZE:Approximately 1-7/8" x 1-1/4".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt, enameled sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with drop in locking swivel catch.

CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): The badge shows minor to moderate wear, enamel missing from the letters: "A" (in the word State) and "N" (island), though much of the enamel and gilt details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
