ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1930s Northwest Airlines lapel pin for one year of service with the company. Northwest had begun in 1926 as Northwest Airways but changed its name in 1933 to be allowed to carry air mail. The pin is in the shape of a DC-2 aircraft and reads NWA on one of its wings.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1930s.
SIZE:
Approximately 1/2" in height and 11/16" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Gold-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:
Single screw post with disc backing.
MARKINGS:
None.
