This beautiful United States Naval officer's hat badge is not maker marked, but it is made in the very distinctive and highly detailed style of the Pasquale Company in San Francisco, which was made by the VH Blackinton Company. Being that it has the double screw posts and that it is plated base metal instead of sterling silver, it is most likely from the pre-war period.
VINTAGE:Circa 1935-1942.
SIZE:About 2-1/16" by 2-1/8".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt and silver-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Double vertically-aligned screw posts.
MARKINGS:None.
ITEM NOTES:None.
CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge shows some small spots of light to medium wear.
