ARTIFACT: This is a Portsmouth Fire Department 12th annual parade ribbon from September 7, 1898. The red ribbon reads M. H. GOODRICH ENGINE CO. 4 and has a photo medallion with a logo for the engine company reverse.

VINTAGE: Circa 1898.

SIZE: 5-1/16" height and 2" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-painted aluminum, celluloid, photograph, printed paper, silk ribbon.

ATTACHMENT: Suspension loop between ribbon and medallion.

MARKINGS: Partial label would have read RIBBON BADGES FROM GEO. A. SANFORD 23 HAWLEY ST., BOSTON with maker's mark.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a fire-related collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Ebay MDJX03 LADEX9/10

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): Ribbon has torn label and some spots of moderate wear around medallion.
