Description
This is a circa 1880's roof/shingle rake for the Moses H. Goodrich Steam Fire Engine Co. No. 4 of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Steam Fire Engine Company No. 4 was established in 1871 and was housed at 42 Hanover Street. This rake has a red painted wooden handle with PORTS'M F.D. stamped twice upon it and a painted number 4 on the neck. The rake portion has four wide teeth.
VINTAGE:Circa 1880's.
SIZE:Approximately 36" in length and 12-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Iron, wood.
