1870's - 1880's Portsmouth, NH Fire Dept. Sagamore Steam Fire Engine No. 1 Badge

Circa 1870's ??? 1880's Portsmouth, New Hampshire fire department Sagamore Steam Fire Engine 1 badge. The center of the shield shaped badge features crossed fire nozzles, nicely engraved details, and reads: "SAGAMORE 1 PORTSMOUTH" and shows the letters: "FD" entwined at the base.

Circa 1870's - 1880's

Approximately 1-7/8" in height x 1-1/2" in width.

Plated nickel with blackened embellishments and lettering.

Vertical safety style pin with 'C' style catch.
