Description
This is a circa 1880s Long Island City (Queens), New York Exempt Firemen's Association badge. The Association was founded in the 1890s and its first President was George Casey. The badge is numbered 54 at the very bottom and has an elaborate "EFA" monogram at center. It was made by Braxmar.
VINTAGE:Circa 1880s.
SIZE:Approximately 2-5/16" in height and 1-9/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt brass.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical T-style pin with C catch.
MARKINGS:54 on front; C.G. BRAXMAR 47 CORTLANDT ST. NEW YORK on reverse.
