Description
This is a 14 karat gold AZTEC Club medal. The AZTEC Club was founded in 1847 by the United States Army's veterans of the Mexican-American War and is a hereditary organization. The medallion hangs from a blue, green and white striped ribbon, and shows an eagle bearing a crest. The front of the medal reads AZTEC CLUB U.S. ARMY 184On the reverse, there is an eagle with a serpent in its mouth and the words CITY OF MEXICO ARMY OF OCCUPATION.
VINTAGE:Circa 1890s.
SIZE:2-7/8" height (including ribbon) and 1-1/2" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:14 karat gold and enamel medallion with brass pin and silk ribbon.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with "C" catch .

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): Medal shows light wear and tarnish and has some very small spots where enamel has come away.
