ARTIFACT: This is a 14 karat association medal for the Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America. A star-shaped medallion hangs from a red, white and blue ribbon. Founded in 1898, The Daughters of Founders and Patriots of organization requires its members to have ancestors who arrived in the colonies between 1607 and 1686 and also have an ancestor who aided American independence between 1775 and 1784.

VINTAGE: Circa 1910-1919.

SIZE: Approximately 4-1/4" height and 1-3/8" width. Medal cannot be removed from ribbon easily, so I can only give an overall weight of 13 grams. But ribbon is heavy and has 2 pins. Top pin MIGHT be gold, but doubtful.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: 14 karat gold (top pin MIGHT be gold, but doubtful) with red, white and blue enamel pin with silk ribbon.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with Tiffany-style catch.

MARKINGS: GRACE M. JENKINS 2583 on reverse.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Daughters of Founders and Patriots collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Ebay VAEL/E08 LCDEX SeCDEX12/14

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): Ribbon is somewhat worn but there is not much discernible wear on the badge.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
