This is a 14 karat lapel pin for the National Society of the United States Daughters of 181A blue enamel star reading U.S.D. 1812 is at the circular pin's center. The society was begun in 1892 as a sorority for women with ancestors who served in either the military or civil service or materially aided the United States military from 1784-1815.
VINTAGE:Circa 1910-1919.
SIZE:9/16" diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:14 karat gold with blue enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with drop-in swivel catch.
MARKINGS:11227 179 and J.E.C. & CO 14K on reverse.
