This is an 1870s United States Express Company lapel pin, probably in gold. This very delicate pin reads UNITED STATES EXPRESS CO. and shows a winged chest flying beneath a horseshoe.
VINTAGE:Circa 1870s.
SIZE:3/4 height and 13/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold (most likely) with black enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal T-style pin with "C" catch.
