ARTIFACT:

This is a World War II enlisted collar insignia for the Women's Army Corps, the first women other than nurses served with the US Army. The insignia shows the helmeted head of Pallas Athena, the Greek goddess of war and wisdom.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 1" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Two posts with clutch-back catches.

MARKINGS:

None.
