This is a World War II enlisted collar insignia for the Women's Army Corps, the first women other than nurses served with the US Army. The insignia shows the helmeted head of Pallas Athena, the Greek goddess of war and wisdom.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts with clutch-back catches.
MARKINGS:None.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. REL94 LBDX4/12 SBBX7/14
CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The insignia shows some very small spots of light wear.
