ARTIFACT:

This is a mint circa World War II officer collar insignia for the Women's Army Corps, the first women other than nurses served with the US Army. The insignia is the helmeted head of Pallas Athena, the Greek goddess of war and wisdom..

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/16" in height and 11/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Two post with clutch-backs.

MARKINGS:

None.
