Description
This is a World War II Westinghouse Electric police badge. The badge would have been worn at Los Alamos during Westinghouse's involvement with the Manhattan Project, codename for the combined effort of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, along with Britain and Canada, to produce the first atomic bomb. It is numbered 203 and is in the style of an old sheriff's badge.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 3-7/16" in height and 3" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass, painted lettering.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with C catch and saddle.
MARKINGS:None.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows some light wear and tarnish with a small amount of the lettering (the W) is worn away.
