This is a World War II United States Submarine Apogon SS-308 Iconic Portsmouth Navy Yard Submarine Profile Badge/Tie Bar in Lacquered Brass. The type of Portsmouth Navy Yard Badge is Extremely Rare to Find identified to a particular Submarine.
USS Apogon SS-308, a Balao-class submarine, was a ship of the United States Navy named for the apogons, a genus of cardinalfishes found in tropical and subtropical waters. The original name planned for the ship was Abadejo, but the name was changed on 24 September 1942 before the keel was laid down.

SIZE:Approximately 3/4" in height x 3-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Lacquered Brass.
