ARTIFACT: This is a scarce United States Navy book entitled "The Log: 33rd Special Naval Construction Battalion" which was commissioned July 10, 1944. The 33rd served on the island of Samar, in the Philippines. The book has many shots of work and play, and rosters in the back. The 33rd is referred to as "Stevebees": a combination of the nickname "Seabees" (for CB" Construction Battalion) and "stevedore".

VINTAGE: Circa World War II (1945).

SIZE: 115 pages with black and white photographs; approximately 10-7/8" in height and 8-3/8" in width and 1/2" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cloth-bound embossed cover, glossy paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LDDEX4/13

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The book has some light wear to the cover; one small stain on one page and few handwritten notes here and there (crossed out 1988 inscription inside cover).
