ARTIFACT: This is a World War II patch for the Mediterranean Allied Air Force. The MAAF became the foremost Allied air force in the Mediterranean region when the Mediterranean Air Command disbanded in December 1943. The patch is rectangular and shows a pair of wings above an ocean reading MAAF.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: About 1-5/8" in height and 3-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fully embroidered in silk/cotton threads.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWII United States Army Air Forces shoulder patch collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. R/AX LAEX9/10 SAEX5/13

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The patch shows light wear, especially along edge.
