ARTIFACT: This is a World War II Mediterranean Allied Air Force (MAAF) "thin waves" variant shoulder patch. The MAAF became the foremost Allied air force in the Mediterranean region when the Mediterranean Air Command disbanded in December 1943. The patch is rectangular and shows a pair of wings above an ocean reading MAAF.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 1-5/8" in height and 3-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fully embroidered in cotton/silk threads.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.
