ARTIFACT: This is a scarce Italian-made shoulder patch in bullion and silk for the Mediterranean Allied Air Force. The MAAF became the foremost Allied air force in the Mediterranean region when the Mediterranean Air Command disbanded in December 1943.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: 1-1/2" height and 3-3/16" width .

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silk embroidered with silk/cotton and bullion threads, muslin backing.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. TRAJX10 LAIEX9/10

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): Patch has a couple of very small gaps where the bullion border has separated and the silk is somewhat wrinkled.
