This is a World War II United States Army Air Forces Hamilton Field photo ID badge. Hamilton Field, located at Novato, California, was a main hub for West Coast air training. Originally designated as a bomber base, Hamilton became a fighter base in 1940, later becoming part of the Western Defense Command in early 194The badge is by Metal Arts Company of Rochester, New York.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/4" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass, clear celluloid, photograph.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch, clip.
