ARTIFACT: Nice, small WWII USAAF grouping to 314th Troop Carrier Group Air Crew Officer with VERY RARE Type 314th Troop Carrier Group distinctive insignia. Approved in 1942, the shield-shaped brass enameled insignia displays two boots walking the field with ornamental gules with the motto: "VIRI VENIENTE" (Men Will Come) in blue. Also included is a UK-made Airborne Troop Carrier and ETO HQ patch. The European Theater patch features two red lightning bolts in the shape of a 'V' for Victory, with an Army Services blue star above in a white cloud. The grouping is named to Air Crew member A. I. Denson and also includes a sterling Air Crew Wing by A.E. Co., USAAF collar insignia, and leather name tag with reads: "A. I. DENSON". The unit dropped paratroopers on Sicily, Saberno, and D-Day.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: DI: 1 1/16" x 7/8"; Airborne Patch: 2 1/16" x 3 3/8"; ETO HQ Patch: 3 ¼" x 2 ¼"; Other pieces are usual dimensions. Please email with any questions.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEJX15 LFGEX3/15 SEJJX3/16

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent - Overall): The DI shows only minor wear, all the enamel details remain intact. Each patch shows areas of moth nips, the ATC patch is missing a small piece of felt along the top edge, which does not detract from look of piece. The remaining artifacts show slight wear, and are in overall excellent condition.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
