ARTIFACT:

This is a World War II worker photo identification badge for the United States Naval Dry Docks at Terminal Island, California. The United States Navy Dry Docks facility was established in 1943 and renamed Terminal Island Naval Shipyard in November 1945, and later became Long Beach Naval Shipyard. This badge was worn by an engineer named Charles G. McClain.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 3-7/16" in height and 2-1/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Celluloid, paper, photograph, nickel-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin on bar with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

3683; W. L. CO. U. S. PAT NO. 2,088,567; PAT. NO. on bar.
