Description
Large WWII Photo ID badge from United States Naval Air Station in Clinton, Oklahoma. In 1942, the area was known as Burns Flat before it was purchased by the government and renamed Naval Air Station Clinton with the mission of training naval aviators. The ID badge shows a period photographed image of a young man in the center, beneath him the numbers: "7-31" and along the top of the badge it reads: "NAVAL AIR STATION CLINTON, OKLA.". The side of the badge reads: "TAMPER PRUF, COPYRIGHTED, 1942 R.O. BURBRIDGE BOX 1274 OKLA.". Tamper Pruf was a husband and wife (Jean and R.O.) team that invented the badge, which was widely used by military, universities, and other government organizations.
