Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a World War II United States Maritime Services officer cap badge in bullion worn by Wally Johnson, a radio officer of the USS President Garfield. Pictured above are Johnson and his ship, the USS President Garfield. The badge shows an eagle perched upon a crest bearing an anchor, all wreathed in gold leaves.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 3-7/16" in height and 24-1/2" in length (total).

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Wool embroidered in bullion, silk backing, elasticized cotton band.

ATTACHMENT:

Elastic band with two reinforced holes.
