This is a World War II United States Army Corps of Engineers officer collar insignia. The insignia, which is the Corps' "Castle", is British made by J.R. Gaunt of London.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 11/16" in height and 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal British kick (Y) pin with C catch.
MARKINGS:J.R. GAUNT LONDON.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEX99 LDEX4/12 SDBX4/14
CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The insignia shows some light wear with some areas of tarnish and small spots of very minor oxidation.
