Product Description


ARTIFACT: This is a World War II Romanian Crusade against Communism Medal (Medalia "Cruciada Impotriva Comunismului"). The medal was instituted in 1942 for combat actions against the Red Army, and was awarded to both Romanian civilians and members of the Romanian military, as well as individuals from other countries allied with Romania. The medal hangs from a red ribbon with a horizontal stripe motif down the center in Romania's national colors. The front shows a bust of Romania's "Liberty" and reads "Romania Recunoscatoare" ("Grateful Romania"). The reverse is a fist holding a sword with a cross in the background and reads "Cruciada Impotriva Comunismului" ("Crusade Against Communism").

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 4-1/2" in height and 1-3/16" in width.


ATTACHMENT: Suspension ring, ribbon.
