Description
This is a World War II Nazi Army General Assault badge (or Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen) in silver-plated zinc. The requirements for receiving this decoration included having participating in three infantry assaults on three separate days after the first day of 1940, among others. This badge is a recent acquisition from a United States veteran, along with two others that are being sold separately (please see links at the bottom of page for more information). The badge has an oval frame of oak leaf foliage and shows an eagle with a swastika perched upon a crossed bayonet and grenade at its center.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/8" in height and 1-11/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silver-plated zinc; silvered nickel (pin).
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick pin with C catch.
MARKINGS:None.
