ARTIFACT: This is a World War II instructor collar insignia for the National School of Aeronautics (NSA), a United States Army Air Forces flight training school in Kansas City, Missouri. The insignia is in the shape of a winged propeller and has red, white and blue enameled stripes on the wing shoulders. The insignia was made by Green Company in the NSA's hometown. Many thanks to Travis Hampton for positively ID-ing this artifact!

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 9/16" in height and 1-1/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWII USAAF training school insignia collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEX12 LAAEX3/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The insignia shows only some light wear and tarnish.
