ARTIFACT: This is a United States Merchant Marine officer's hat badge on a hat band. The badge is from World War II and is in plated sterling silver.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 3-1/4" in height and 23-1/4" in length (total including band).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated sterling silver, wool, elasticized cotton.

ATTACHMENT: Band, two posts with disc backings.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Merchant Marine collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBJX98 LAAEX11/11

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge has some light wear and medium tarnish with two small worn spots on the wool and some spots of wear to the band.
