This is a United States Merchant Marine officer's hat badge on a hat band. The badge is from World War II and is in plated sterling silver.

Circa World War II.

Approximately 3-1/4" in height and 23-1/4" in length (total including band).

Plated sterling silver, wool, elasticized cotton.

Band, two posts with disc backings.
