WWII Merchant Marine Officer Hat with Sterling Silver Badge

This is a United States Merchant Marine officer hat with a sterling silver badge.

Circa World War II.

Size 7 1/8.

Khaki twill, pressed cardboard, patent leather, elasticized cotton hat band, punched leather liner, wicker liner, leather with embroidery tape, gold-plated sterling and sterling silver, gold-plated brass, wool felt, silk ribbon, cotton/silk embroidery thread, clear plastic with printed cloth insert.

7 1/8 and ALL-BILT UNIFORMS INC. 147 FULTON ST. NEW YORK CITY (once in insert and also painted on liner).

7- (Very Fine-): Hat has some small very spots of discoloration on top, a slight hole in the hat band, one split in the visor, light tarnish on the badge and the liner is partly loose.

As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
