This is an Italian Army 61st Libyan Infantry Division sleeve badge from World War II. Named for a Libyan city, "Sirte" was organized in the spring of 193The group fought with Rommel's Afrika Korps in North Africa, and was dissolved in 1941.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 2-9/16" in height and 1-15/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Cotton/silk with bevo-weave embroidery.
