Description
This is a World War II Iron Cross 1st class made by Zimmerman with a slightly vaulted design. The Iron Cross was reinstituted by Hitler, it having originally been a Prussian decoration, and was conferred for bravery in action and other meritorious military acts. The 1st class version does not hang from a ribbon, as does the 2nd class version.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/4" in height and 1-3/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass/tombak frame with steel center.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical T-style pin with C catch.
