Description
This is a circa World War II member badge for the Imperial Japanese Sea Disaster Rescue Society. The badge is nicely enameled in red and white, and shows the prow of a lifeboat at the center of a life preserver. It comes in its original box.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Badge: approximately 1-1/2" in height and 1-1/8" in width; box: approximately 2-7/16" by 1-15/16" by 5/8".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome plated and enameled brass; lightweight wooden box with silk lining.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with C catch, two-piece box.
MARKINGS:Japanese characters on reverse of badge and on top of box. 日本帝国災害救助会員微章
