This is a great World War II era scabbard for a keris (or kris) from Indonesia. A keris is a dagger native to Indonesia as well as a handful of neighboring countries, with an asymmetrical blade. This simple scabbard is in a lightweight, reddish-brown wood with decorative straw bindings at intervals.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 3-3/4" in width (at its widest point), and 19-1/4" in length.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wood, straw.
