Description

ARTIFACT:

WWII Era Doylestown Air Service license plate topper in near mint, unused condition. The topper is navy blue with golden yellow lettering that reads: "DOYLESTOWN AIR SERVICE STUDENTS - CHARTER - SERVICE DOYLESTOWN, PA." and the top displays the company logo - a winged oval with the letters "DAS" in the center, it is painted in reflective paint. An image of a classified ad mentioning Doylestown Air Service dates the topper to approximately 1946 (see photo). This artifact came to us along with the Martin Co. Aircraft patches and plate topper (see links at the bottom of the page).

Painted steel, reflective paint

ATTACHMENT:

Two horizontal holes for attachment to license plate/vehicle.
