Description
Wonderful 1920's 1930's United States Post Office license plate topper or tag in exceptional condition. The heavy bronze tag is in the shape of shield and reads: "U. S. POST OFFICE" in high relief block letters. This example was made at an old, now defunct, foundry in Sharon Springs, New York. The plates were used on old postal vehicles, most likely for rural delivery.
