ARTIFACT: This is a Boeing control wheel center cap from World War II. Boeing was started in 1916 as Pacific Aero Products Co. and renamed one year later. The cap is in aluminum and would have been used on B-17-F bombers and other earlier aircraft. The logo is a winged totem pole configuration of the company's letters.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 9/16" in depth and 3-5/16" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted aluminum.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: 1 17998; writing on reverse.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The cap has some areas of light to medium abrasion and tarnish.
