Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a World War I pennant for the Balloon Corps of the United States Aviation Section, Signal Corps quartered at Camp Morrison, Virginia. The Aviation Section was part of the Army and was the nation's military air service from 1914-1918, later becoming the United States Air Service. The pennant is red and blue and is decorated with the two crossed signal flags logo.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War I.

SIZE:

Approximately 13-1/8" in height by 32-1/2" in length (not including foam board); ties are each about 4" long.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

This pennant is shrink-wrapped to a piece of foam board. It will be shipped unwrapped and rolled without the foam board, unless arrangements are made for pick-up or special shipping to preserve the shrink wrap mounting.
