ARTIFACT: This is a World War I United States Air Service sweetheart locket in gold-plated sterling silver. The locket is oval with a twisted, scrolling border and a mother-of-pearl center. A gold pilot wing graces the front and the reverse is reminiscent of filigree.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: 1-3/8" length and 7/8" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated sterling with mother-of-pearl.

ATTACHMENT: Chain link; hinge to oval back.

MARKINGS: PR. ST. CO. 1/20 12 KT ON STERLING.

ITEM NOTES: The locket you receive will either be the one pictured or one in very similar condition. There may be possible color variations in the mother of pearl. This is from a United States Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. RBJV92 LHEX 5/10

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The locket is in wonderful shape and shows some abrasion on reverse.
