WWI US Air Service "Dallas" Type Pilot Wing BB&B Style

This is a World War I US Air Service "Dallas" type Pilot wing in the style attributed to the jewelry firm of Bailey, Banks, & Biddle.

Circa WWI.

About 3-5/8" in width by 15/16" in height.

Sterling Silver with 14K Gold "US" on a woven wool wrapped brass backing plate with nickel findings.

Horizontal pin with a "drop-in" locking catch. Please note that the locking part of the catch is absent.

6- (Fine-): Minor wear, but heavy tarnish/yellow film: probably exposed to years of cigarette smoke. Leather stitching cover on reverse is absent as is locking part of catch.
