ARTIFACT: This is a World War I US Air Service "Dallas" type Pilot wing in the style attributed to the jewelry firm of Bailey, Banks, & Biddle.

VINTAGE: Circa WWI.

SIZE: About 3-5/8" in width by 15/16" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling Silver with 14K Gold "US" on a woven wool wrapped brass backing plate with nickel findings.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with a "drop-in" locking catch. Please note that the locking part of the catch is absent.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a large collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MHJJL07 LAEJJX SABJJX 8/09

CONDITION: 6- (Fine-): Minor wear, but heavy tarnish/yellow film: probably exposed to years of cigarette smoke. Leather stitching cover on reverse is absent as is locking part of catch.
