ARTIFACT: This is a uniquely sentimental piece of history. Pinned to a yellowing piece of paper is a single WWI style US Army Captains rank insignia. Below this is a note in old pen & ink written in WWII: Roger, Sol Silver cap ornament, matching the shoulder insignia you now have. Bought in Tiffany's in Paris in 1918. Dad." I don't know how Roger faired in WWII. If only this little souvenir could talk.

VINTAGE: Circa 1918.

SIZE: 1" in width by 1-1/8" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Coin silver.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin-back with a very early style "drop in" locking catch.

MARKINGS: SILVER.

ITEM NOTES: Although this piece is not actually marked "TIFFANY" I have no doubt that it was purchased there in 1918!

CONDITION: 9.25 Excellent+: almost no wear, heavy tarnish.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
