Description
This is a World War I Royal Air Force presentation teapot given to a Mrs. H. E. Newman by the 51st Squadron, home defense against Zeppelins, Gotha bombers, V-boats and other threats. The teapot has a RFC period date of 27 September 1917, presumably a date of importance commemorated later by the presentation of this piece.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Approximately 7" in height and in 11" in width (including handle) and 5-1/4" in diameter (at top).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silver-plated white metal; ebony on handle.
ATTACHMENT:Side handle, hinged lid.
MARKINGS:L & W.S E.P.B.M. 32814 4 and "set" with some numbers scratched on bottom.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The teapot has some light abrasions, small spots of wear and areas of moderate tarnishing; handle is a bit loose.
