ARTIFACT: This is a World War I Royal Air Force presentation teapot given to a Mrs. H. E. Newman by the 51st Squadron, home defense against Zeppelins, Gotha bombers, V-boats and other threats. The teapot has a RFC period date of 27 September 1917, presumably a date of importance commemorated later by the presentation of this piece.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 7" in height and in 11" in width (including handle) and 5-1/4" in diameter (at top).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silver-plated white metal; ebony on handle.

ATTACHMENT: Side handle, hinged lid.

MARKINGS: L & W.S E.P.B.M. 32814 4 and "set" with some numbers scratched on bottom.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWI RFC Royal Flying Corps collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. 50CON-JMB-VAEJX11 LDDEX7/11 SRETX07/13

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The teapot has some light abrasions, small spots of wear and areas of moderate tarnishing; handle is a bit loose.
