Description
This is a World War I badge for the Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen. The "Four L" formed in 1917 as a measure to preserve the wood supply crucial to the war effort from hindrances caused by labor strikes. The badge shows a forest scene with woodcutter's tools on the ground, and through a clearing one sees an airplane flying over a ship. The badge reads AUTHORIZED BY THE SECRETARY OF WAR at bottom.
